In Spain, the rapidly growing cost of renting – mainly in popular tourist areas such as Barcelona and the Balearic Islands, writes Property Investor Today , citing data from the portal Idealista.

By the end of March the average price of rent in Spain increased by 8.8% to €9 per square meter per month. The cost of rent is rising in many regions of the country with a focus on the most popular tourist destinations.

In Barcelona, the owners rent it to tourists for €18 / 1 m / 1 month, in Madrid, for €15.

Another popular portal Fotocasa.es reports that in the period April-may of the current year, rental prices grew by 1.3%. Annual rising cost of rent, therefore, was 10.5%.
